Dennis L. “Denny” Spencer

Dennis L. “Denny” Spencer, 74, of Grampian, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 with his family by his side at home.

He was born January 14, 1947 to Clinton and Anna (Molnar) Spencer in Clearfield.

Dennis was a founding member of Faith Bible Church in Lumber City and also the church pianist. Music was a big part of Denny’s life; he starting playing at the age of five at the Church of the Nazarene in Clearfield. He switched from the piano to the organ as needed by the church. He was the youngest of 10 brothers and sisters.

Denny started Spencer’s Body Shop in Grampian almost 60 years ago. He enjoyed his work but restoring antique cars was his passion. He loved gardening, attending car shows, his cats, feeding deer, and watching birds. Denny had a gentle spirit and appreciated the gentle things in life.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris “Deanie” (Shaw) Spencer, Grampian, three daughters, Diane C. Kennard and husband Dan, DuBois, Donna J. Tubbs and husband Robbie, Marron, Darla S. Wilson, Newport, seven grandchildren, Robbie Tubbs Jr, and wife Sara, Deidre Brown and husband Tim, Dreama Joy Tubbs, Dan Kennard II and wife Hannah, Kimberly Howsare and husband Ricky, Ryan Diamond, Chloie Diamond, seven great-grandchildren, Reagan Brown, Nora Tubbs, Everett Brown, Murphy Kennard, Hallie Tubbs, Tahli Kennard, Baby Boy Tubbs, and a brother, Melvin Spencer, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight siblings.

Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Monday, June 21, at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757, Friends will also be received on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Bible Church, 398 Grandview Road, Curwensville, PA 16833.

Interment will be at Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
