Dennis L. Knapp, 65, of Coolspring, PA died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born July 1, 1951 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Harold A. & Olive G. Corbett Knapp.
Mr. Knapp was a graduate of Brookville High School. He was married to the former Kathleen Kerr. She preceded him in death in 2008.
Denny was employed at Beverage Aire in the shipping and receiving department. He was with the company for over 39 years. He also had his own business “Sparkle Tap Service” (cleaning taps in bars and restaurants) and for many years had a DJ service “Ace’s High “.
Mr. Knapp was a member of the Brookville F.O.E. #983 , Brookville Fireman’s Club, and Punxsutawney Moose Club #954 . He enjoyed keeping a nice yard and having a nice flower garden. His hobbies were golfing and antique cars (especially his Ford LTD) which he took great pride; he also enjoyed attending car shows .
Denny is survived by three brothers, Charles C. Knapp, of Brookville, Donald H. Knapp, of Brookville and Dale I. Knapp, of Topeka, Kansas and two sisters, E. Louise Winters and her husband, Kenneth, of Brookville and Deborah S. McCraw and her husband, Joel, of Roanoke, Virginia.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Knapp is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, 50 Broad Street , Summerville, PA.
Interment will be in the Windy Hill Cemetery, Rose TWP, Jefferson County.
