Dennis Randall Shaffer, 61, of Rossiter, passed away at his home on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015.
Dennis was born in Punxsutawney on Sept. 19, 1953, a son of the late Thomas Arnold and Margaret (Roy) Shaffer. His mother, Margaret, survives.
Mr. Randall was a U.S. Navy veteran. Following service to his country, Shag completed a tough two-year curriculum in robotic engineering. Following school, he worked in the construction industry primarily as an electrician.
For those who knew Shag, they would agree that he was a free spirit, and beneath his rough face was a good-hearted man who loved helping his friends.
He was particularly good with his hands and could fix just about anything mechanical. He never said no to a friend who asked for his help. With respect to music, Shag loved Molly Hatchet.
In addition to his mother, Shag is survived by four brothers, Tom Shaffer and wife Cheryl and Doug and Greg Shaffer, all of Punxsutawney, and Bryan Shaffer of Clearfield; and two sisters, Laura German of California and Debra Byerly of Punxsutawney.
All funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Punxsutawney.
