Details Released in Summerville Crash; One Flown from Scene

truck-1SUMMERVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – One person was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital after an SUV slammed into a utility pole in Summerville Borough, Jefferson County.

The accident happened around 11:47 a.m. on Wednesday when an SUV operated by a female driver collided with a utility pole on Harrison Street.

The driver was unharmed, but a male passenger suffered undisclosed injuries.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department assisted Summerville Volunteer Firemen’s Association and Jefferson County EMS with removal of the patient from the vehicle. They also set up a landing zone for Stat MedEvac.

The patient was then flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Punxsutawney-based State Police have not released a report on the accident, therefore the names of the individuals involved have not been made public.
