Two Dead Bodies Found in Snow at Distant Residence

distant-1DISTANT, Pa. (EYT) – Authorities in Armstrong County say two bodies were found in the snow at a residence in Distant on Sunday.

Armstrong County 911 says Kittanning-based State Police was dispatched to a residence along Route 28/66 around 2:39 p.m.

Sources at KDKA-TV News told exploreClarion.com that a police source in Armstrong County has confirmed earlier reports that two dead bodies were discovered at the home.

Authorities declined to release specific details on the incident; however, heavy police and emergency personnel activity has been reported in the area.

An eyewitness who lives near the scene told exploreClarion.com that approximately ten PA State Police vehicles remained on the scene as of Sunday evening.

According to the eyewitness, authorities appeared to be canvassing the area and had setup large tents around the property.

Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers was also called to the scene.

Distant Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for traffic control.

Route 28/66 is currently closed between Pheasant Farm Road and Cherry Street. A detour is in place.
