DEVELOPING STORY: Fire Chief, Volunteer Facing Charges in Connection with Treasure Lake Fire

fire_truck-e1348179123281SANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two firefighters have been charged in connection with an April 2015 fire at Treasure Lake in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

DuBois-based State Police say the fire broke out around 11 p.m. in a wooded area near the intersection of Harborview Road and Jolly Roger Road.

Police say 22-year-old Aaron C. Kulbacki and 24-year-old Christopher G. Leone, both of DuBois, have been charged in connection with the fire.

Kulbacki was a volunteer firefighter and Leone was the Fire Chief for Treasure Lake on the day of the fire, according to investigating officer Tpr. Berta.

No specific information was released on the charges against Kulbacki and Leone; however, police did indicate that charges were filed Tuesday at District Court 46-3-01 in Clearfield County.
