Dirt Bike Crash in Ringgold Township, Operator Flown to Hospital

RINGGOLD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 10:35 a.m. on September 12, a dirt bike accident occurred on State Route 536, east of Sandy Hill Road, in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 21-year-old Brandon T. Jay, of Distant, was traveling west on SR 536 on a BAJA Hensim Dirt Runner 70CC.

He took his eyes off the road to look behind him for traffic while attempting to negotiate a left curve, according to police.

The dirt bike exited off the right side of the roadway, traveling through the lawn of a residence, crossed over Sandy Hill Road, and impacted a ditch, police say.

Jay suffered moderate injuries as a result of the crash.

He was flown to Altoona Hospital for treatment.

His dirt bike sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

He will be charged with multiple traffic violations in District Court 54-3-01.

Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department and Clarion County EMS assisted at the scene.
