Dolores Lou Shaffer, 84, of Sigel, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Brookville Hospital.
Born on January 10, 1929, she was the daughter of Roy M. Coon, Sr., and Lula M. Moody Coon.
On August 4, 1951, she married Robert E. Shaffer in Siegel; he preceded her in death on December 12, 1997.
Dolores was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church in Sigel, Pa. She enjoyed her family, animals, cooking, music, and taking long car rides.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Eric Shaffer (Joyce) of Robinson Twp., Pa.; Steven D. Shaffer of Sigel, Pa.; Michael V. Shaffer of Brookville, Pa.; and Mark A. Shaffer (Rosemary) of Sigel, Pa.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Olive Rynd, two infant sisters, and two brothers, Kenneth R. Coon and Roy Coon Jr.
Visitation Hours are on Friday, July 26, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at McKinney Funeral Home with The Rev. Boyd Edmondson.
Interment will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
