Donald C. Martz

Donald C. Martz, age 69, of Stanton PA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Bradford Hospital while traveling home from a family outing.

He was born on March 21, 1946, to the late Clair and Clara (Powell) Martz, in Punxsutawney, PA. On August 16, 1969, he married Mary Lou (Kennedy) Martz, at the Stanton United Methodist Church, in Stanton, PA; they have been married for 46 years.

For 38 years he worked for TW Phillips. Don served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves from 1966 – 1971. He liked racing and he was a member of the 16M Martz Racing Pit Crew; he enjoyed spending time with his sons at the race track. He liked to gamble. He loved his family; he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking them for rides on the side-by-side.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by 3 sons, Randy (fiancé Pamela Fleming) Martz; Roger (Jennifer) Martz, and Rusty (Ashley) Martz; 1 sister, Mary Lou Burkett; 3 grandchildren, Megan (Tim) Bish; Adam Martz, and Emily Martz; and 1
great-grandchild, Brantley R. Bish.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by 1 sister, Irene Pearce.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 1-3pm and 5-7pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825.

An evening funeral service will immediately follow the second visitation at the funeral home, beginning at 7pm, and officiated by Pastor Bob Goodnough.

Interment will take place at the St. Johns Cemetery (Windy Hill), in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the St. Johns Cemetery Association, c/o Rick Park, 23 Pennsylvania Ave., Brookville PA, 15825, Pinegrove Sportsman’s Club of Stanton, or anywhere of the donors choosing.
