Donald E. Snyder

Donald E. Snyder, 75, Summerville, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at Brookville Hospital.

Born July 24, 1938, in Ashland Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Amos Stewart Snyder and Esther Jane Showers Snyder.

Donald obtained his GED and later completed a machinist course at Williamsport Community College.

Donald was a veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force until his discharge in 1960.

On June 25, 1960, he was married to Patricia M. Wyse in Summerville.

Donald was a lifelong truck driver.

He was a member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and eating out.
Along with his wife, Donald is survived by a son, Donald A. (Joyce) Snyder of Wolcott, N.Y.; a daughter, Denise R. Park of Ethridge, Tenn.; two brothers, David (Mary Ellen) Snyder of Modesto Calif., and John (Edith) Snyder of Brookville; and a sister, Norma Jean (Bob) Miller of Brookville. He is also survived by two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Byerly and Betty Vasbinder.

His family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2014, at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad Street and First Avenue, Summerville. The service will follow at 11 am. with Lay Minister Roger Snyder officiating.

Interment will be in the Westview Cemetery, Clover Township, Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
