Donald Eugene Liedl Sr.

Donald Eugene Liedl, Sr., age 89 of Falls Creek, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Christ the King Manor.

Born on April 16, 1933 in Reynoldsville, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Hazel (Smith) Liedl.

Don was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War.

Don married his wife Sylvia (Hughes) Liedl on June 9, 1956.

She proceeded him in death on March 9, 2020.

He was also proceeded in death by his son Henry, granddaughter Amy, brother Bill, and sister Ruth.

He graduated from the Reynoldsville High School Class of 1951.

Don retired from Collins and Nolder of Falls Creek.

Don was an active member of Saint Bernard Roman Catholic Church and Holy Name Society for many years.

He was also a member of the Falls Creek Eagles, a 30-year member of the Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and was active in the JCARC and Camp Friendship.

He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening , and had a passion for hunting ginseng with his friend Parker.

He is survived by two sons (Donald of Falls Creek, PA and Douglas of Reynoldsville, PA), three sisters (Mary Hannah of Reynoldsville, PA, and Catherine Johnson and Carol Rokosky, both of DuBois, PA), 6 grandchildren (Megan, Jennifer, Adam, Tim, Bethany, & Beverly) and four great grandchildren (Billy, Allison, Alivia, and Adalynn).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10 AM from St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Edward Walk as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
