Donald J. Hughey, 72, of Brookville died Thursday evening, November 18, 2021 at Penn Highlands Dubois following a brief illness.
Born in Brookville on January 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Carmen and Lulu Belle White Hughey.
He was a 1968 graduate of Brookville High School.
On September 27, 1969 in McConnellsville, he married the former Janice L. Davis. She survives.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver.
Don was always there when he was needed; he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Janice, he is survived by his sons, Jamie (Brandi) Hughey and Chad (Angie) Hughey; his daughters, Shelby (Clyde) Geer and Kala (Jack) Delp; his sisters, Ginny (Don) Ishman and Nancy Hetrick; as well as 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his brothers, Ralph and Gene Hughey.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11AM at Summerville Church of Christ at 11AM with Mike Smith, officiating.
