Donald Lee Wright

Donald Lee Wright, 63 passed away quietly at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Jan 28, 2017.

Don was born in DuBois on October 20, 1953, a son of the late William George and Mary Frances (Ashbaugh) Wright. Don married Mary Catherine Miller on Dec 8, 1973. Mary survives and resides in Knoxdale.

Don was self-employed as an owner-operator log truck driver which he was very passionate about. Besides love for his job, Don also liked riding his Harley, hunting and fishing, and watching chiller movies and TV car shows such as “Fast and Loud” and “Grease Monkey” on the Discovery Channel.

Don was a family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren very much.

He also enjoyed spending time with his brothers; especially, his brother Jim. Outgoing by nature, he liked being around people and was a member of both the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Punxsutawney.

In addition to his wife, Mary, of 43 years, Don is survived by his daughter, Sunny Depp and her husband Brad of Punxsutawney; four brothers, Thomas Wright and his wife Dorothy of Brookville, Robert Wright of Brookville, Kenneth Wright and his wife Gloria of Knoxdale, and James wright and his wife Shelly of Knoxdale; three grandchildren, David, Devlin, and Shania Hale; and one great-grandchild, Giovanni Michael Leroy Walsh.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Rachel Hale; and two brothers, Jackie Wright and an infant brother.

A memorial service for Don will be held on Saturday, Feb 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc of Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Wright’s memory to the Hahne Caner Center in DuBois, 100 Hospital Ave; DuBois, Pennsylvania 15801.
