Donald R. Henry, 86, of Rossiter, passed into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Henry was born July 14, 1928, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Ray S. and Nellie Z. (McMahan) Henry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn J. (Smith) Henry.
Mr. Henry was a union carpenter for many years before retirement. He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles and the American Legion. He loved camping, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Dennis R. Henry and wife Mona of Rossiter, Randy L. Henry of Anita; daughters Debra Pardee and husband David of Treasure Lake and Terry Henry of Punxsutawney; brother Richard Henry and wife Sherry of Kansas; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the funeral home, with Pastors Earl Flick and Bob Bish officiating.
Interment is private for family at Pine Cemetery, Rossiter.
