Doris Fye, 79, of DuBois, passed away at her home on Monday, June 6, 2016.
Doris was born on June 7, 1936, in Chickesaw, a daughter of the late Victor and Mildred (Richard) Gerano.
On October 15, 1996, she married Robert E. Fye. He survives.
She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Troutville.
Doris was a homemaker. In her spare time, she loved to drive the Amish and play Bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; three step-daughters, Cheryl Gray and husband Paul of Washington; Melanie Sue Fye of Maryland; and Wanda Schmaus and husband Michael of Rossiter, PA; and one sister, Mary Jane Will of Columbus, Ohio.
Doris was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Shaffer; her parents; and two brothers, Walter and Victor Gerano.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016, and from 10–11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Audra Krise.
Interment will follow at Morningside Cemetery, DuBois, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris’s memory to the DuBois Parkside Community Center, 120 West Park Avenue, DuBois, Pa. 15801.
