Doris Lee Johns, 87, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, while a resident of the McKinley Health Center in Brookville.
Doris was born on September 21, 1935, to the late Walter Lee and Cynthia Ellen (Love) Nolph in Brookville.
She graduated from Brookville Area High School.
Doris married Charles Arnold Johns on July 20, 1956, in Brookville; Charles preceded her in passing on July 5, 2018.
Doris was a stay-at-home mother and loved raising her children.
She worked at Pinecrest and Plyler’s Restaurant when she got older.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Brookville.
Doris loved to cook for her family and have family get togethers; her family meant everything to her.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great – grandchildren and going on outings with their friends Bob and Betty Long.
Doris is survived by three children; Denny (Ann) Johns; Bonnie Johns; and Beth (Randy) Campbell all of Brookville, PA; three grandchildren; Kevin (Ashley) Johns; Kristy (Eli) Morres; and Jordan Campbell.
Doris is also survived by three great – grandchildren; Margo Morres; Nolan Johns; and Maelyn Johns.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris is preceded in passing by two sisters; Dorothy Park and Martha Sarvey.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 2pm to 6pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825.
A second viewing will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 30 White St., Brookville, PA 15825, from 10am to 11am.
A funeral service will be held immediately following the second viewing at the Church, beginning at 11am and officiated by Pastor Loren McQueen.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Evangelical United Methodist Church.
Interment will take place at St. John’s (Windy Hill) Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
