Doris S. (Smouse) Gagliardi, 85, of Knotts Island, NC, formerly of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Clarksville, TN.
She was born October 13, 1935 in Punxsutawney to the late Robert Smouse and Dorothy (Guignet) Smouse.
She was a longtime member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church.
Doris worked for over 20 years in the cafeteria of Punxsutawney Area Jr. High School before retirement. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored every moment she spent with her family.
She was married to John Gagliardi who preceded her in death March 16, 2015. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded by her brother Charles Smouse.
She is survived by her children Mark Gagliardi (Olga) of Clarksville, TN and Kathy Jordan (John) of Knotts Island, NC. Her grandchildren, John, Ashli, Halie, Tori, Samantha, Molly, Ana and four great grandchildren. Brother, Robert Smouse (Karen) of Punxsutawney, and a sister-in-law, Rose Smouse of NY.
Friends will be received on Saturday, February 27th from 11 am until 1 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, where a blessing service will be held at 1:00 PM with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
