Dorothy Jane Garver, 89, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Brookville Hospital.
She was born in Pinoak, Madison Twp., Clarion County, PA on October 29, 1925, the daughter of Chester Arthur and Susanna Marie (Haggerty) Garver.
Dorothy was a lifetime resident of the Rimersburg area and was a member of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church of Wildcat. Dorothy worked at Sylvania in Brookville until it closed and then in housekeeping at the old Clarion Hospital for 14 years and she retired from Hospital Supply. Dorothy was an adult Sunday school teacher and for many years enjoyed a card ministry, where she sent greeting cards to family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Alice G. Stahlman of Hemet, CA and Betty C. Keith and husband James of Bellefonte, PA and one sister in-law, Jacque Garver of Rimersburg.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her infant sister, Alda Louise Garver, who was born December 22, 1930 and died December 24, 1930 and one brother Ronald Paul Garver who died on July 12, 1999.
Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.
Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, Wildcat, with the Rev. Mark G. Deeter officiating.
Burial will be in Lawsonham Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
