Dorothy M. Longenecker, Age 82 of West Washington Ave., DuBois, PA, formerly of Hillsdale, PA,died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born on February 8, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis & Anna (Held) Spinnenwelder.
On August 28, 1948, she married Ernest Longenecker. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2001.
Dorothy loved to crochet, do crafts, and read. She was also well known for making beautiful doilies. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
She is survived by 4 children (Dorothy C. “Dottie” Barry & her husband William of DuBois, PA; Patricia K. Pearce of Orlando, FL; Richard E. Longenecker & his wife Katherine of Blairsville, PA; and Francis C. Longenecker & his wife Brenda of Clymer, PA) 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter (Frances) and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Dave Bish officiating.
Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery, Hillsdale, PA.
