Dorothy Ryen, 96, formerly of Punxsutawney, PA, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.
She was born on August 14, 1917 in Punxsutawney, PA, the daughter of the late John and Ruth Deitman.
She was married to Floyd C. Ryen who preceded her in death on April 8, 2001.
She was a long-time employee of Rola-Jensen of Punxsutawney, PA.
She was a member of the Canoe Ridge Church of God.
She is survived by two sons, Donald J. Ryen and wife Cheryl of Punxsutawney, PA; Jack Ryen and wife Joyce of Brandywine, MD; three daughters, Shirley Rainey of Hubbard, OH; Diane Prutznal and husband Joe of North Tonawanda, NY; and Barbara Keller of North Tonawanda, NY; two brothers, Robert Deitman and Carl “Butch” Deitman; and by three sisters, Mildred Bash, Patricia Rankin and Judy McDonald.
She is also survived by 22 Grandchildren………17 Great-Grandchildren…..and10 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eva Jean McCracken and one son, Kenneth Ryen; and by nine brothers and sisters, and two grandsons.
Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, PA on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 and on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 10-11
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Flick officiating.
Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery at Rossiter, PA
The family suggests that donations in memory of Mrs. Ryen be made to the Canoe Ridge Church of God or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
