Dr. Joseph Michael Lisa

Dr. Joseph Michael Daniel Lisa, 86 of Treasure Lake, DuBois, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014, at his home.

Dr. Lisa was born May 8, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ., a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Gallo) Lisa.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara A. (Brauer) Lisa of DuBois.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in DuBois. Dr. Lisa earned his BA in Chemistry, St. Peter’s College in 1950, MS in Physiology, Fordham University in 1954, PhD in Physiology, Fordham University in 1958, Medical-Preclinical, University of Lausanne, Switzerland 1958-1960, Medical-Clinical, University of Bologna, Italy, 1960-1962, Resident Participation in Cytopathology, University of Miami Med School, 1972.

He was a Staff Scientist in Corporate Research at Northrop-Grumman and an Aerospace Physiologist.

In addition to his wife Barbara he is survived by a daughter; Diana Lisa of New York, NY., a brother; Charles Lisa of Spring Hill, FL., brothers in law and sisters in law; Michael Pascale, Rev. Donald Brauer and wife Debra, Ginny Haines and husband Jerry, Patti Brauer and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday at St. Micheal the Archangel Church in DuBois with Msgr. Desmond McGee as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in Mr. Lisa’s name to St. Michael the Arch Angel, 25 Robinson Street, DuBois, PA. 15801.
