Dr. Thomas E. Cressley, Jr., 66, died Thursday, January 10, 2019, at home.
He was born August 7, 1952, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Florinda (Anderson) and Dr. Thomas E. Cressley.
On February 28, 1987, he married Gloria J. (Wilburn) Cressley, who survives.
Tom was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School Class of 1970. He went on to complete his undergrad at the University of Pittsburgh and then attended the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh graduating from there in 1977. He worked as a dentist in Punxsutawney for over forty years.
He loved going to camp where he became the camp chef. He enjoyed gardening, mowing the grass, and wrestling, especially watching his son Steven compete.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Regional Red Cross and was a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association as well as the American Dental Association, and a member of the B.P.O. Elks.
In addition to his wife Gloria, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Cressley of Punxsutawney and Steven Cressley of Fairfax, Virginia; three siblings, sister Karla Cressley of Punxsutawney, brother Charles Cressley and wife Debra of Punxsutawney, and brother Scott Cressley of Iowa; five nephews, Barry and wife Kendall, Adam and wife Macy, Alex and fiancé Nicole, Joel, and Camden; and a niece Candace Bell.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2019, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Russ Crouthamel.
Interment will be in Anita Community Cemetery, Anita.
