New Bethlehem Man Charged in Brookville Hit-and-Run Crash

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A New Bethlehem man is facing charges following a recent hit-and-run crash in Brookville.

Brookville Borough Police say around 2:05 a.m. on January 15, a hit and run crash occurred on Progress Street in Brookville, Jefferson County.

According to police, they were dispatched to the parking lot of Bev-Air to investigate the crash.

Police say a vehicle fled the scene after striking another vehicle that was occupied by a 32-year-old man from Corsica.

During the investigation, the other driver was identified as 44-year-old David Lee Claypool of New Bethlehem, according to police.

Charges of hit and run, reckless driving, and other related violations are being filed against Claypool at the office of District Magistrate Gregory Bazylak.
