Driver Escapes Injury in Jefferson County Crash

McCalmont Twp., Pa. (EYT) — Police responded to a crash on Graffius Avenue in McCalmont Twp., Jefferson County yesterday around 3:57 p.m.

Maurice J. Woods, 67, of Reynoldsville, was traveling north on Graffius Ave., and failed to negotiate the slight curve left upon cresting a hill, Punxsutawney-based State Police say.

The 2008 Buick LaCrosse he was driving left the roadway and traveled approximately 250 feet through a yard before striking a tree and coming to rest, police say.

Woods was not wearing a seat belt, but was uninjured.

Jefferson County EMS, McCalmont Twp. VFD, and Southside Towing assisted state police.
