Driver Escapes Injury in One-Car Crash in Huston Township

HUSTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Dubois-based State Police say a one car crash occurred on around 7:35 p.m. on April 6 on Hoovertown Road, in Huston Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, William C. Welch, 54 of Jamestown, NY, was travelling northbound on SR 255 in a 1996 Oldsmobile 98 and was attempting to pass a truck tractor on a hill.

The steering system failed on the vehicle, causing it to travel off the west side of the roadway and into an embankment.

Welch was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
