According to police, 49-year-old Russell W. Carr, of St. Marys, was traveling west on Rattlesnake Road and lost control of his 2005 Sierra due to excessive speed and slushy road conditions while negotiating a left curve.

The vehicle traveled across the eastbound lane of the road and struck the guide rails on the south side of the roadway with its front end, police say.

After impact, the vehicle traveled over the guide rails and rolled onto its left side. The vehicle came to rest on its left side facing west.

Carr was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation in front of Magisterial District Justice Inzana, of Reynoldsville.
