Driver Exits Road to Avoid Deer, Crashes into Tree in Knox Twp.

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225KNOX TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 10:00 p.m. on September 25, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Five Mile Run Road, in Knox Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 34-year-old Julie L. Stancliffe, of Brookville, was traveling northbound on Five Mile Run Road when a deer crossed from the east side of the roadway.

Stancliffe’s 2012 Jeep Laredo exited the east side of the roadway while applying the brakes before impacting a tree off the east side of the road, police say.

The vehicle came to a final rest on the northbound travel lane on its roof, facing south, according to police.

Stancliffe suffered injuries of unknown severity.

She was using a seat belt.

The vehicle sustained a disabling amount of damage to the right front of the vehicle. McPherson Auto Body and Towing towed it from the scene.

Jefferson County EMS and Knox Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
