Driver Fails to Stay in Lane in Two-Vehicle Bell Township Crash

BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT)– Punxsutawney-based State Police report a two-vehicle crash occurred at 7:25 p.m. on August 18 in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Dennis C. Oley, 23, of Punxsutawney was traveling north on Clawson Street in a 2006 Chevrolet HHR when he failed to remain on the right side of the roadway.

Oley allegedly struck a 2003 Honda Odyssey driven by Lisa Fetterman, 35, of Punxsutawney, who was traveling south.

Police say Oley side-swiped Fetterman’s vehicle and came to a final rest facing east, while Fetterman’s vehicle came to a final rest facing south.

Both Oley and Fetterman were using seat belts and suffered minor injuries. Fetterman’s two passengers, a 10-year-old female and an 8-year-old female, were both also wearing seat belts and were uninjured in the crash.

Oley was cited with a Careless Driving violation.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Punxsy Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS.
