Driver Flown to UPMC Altoona Following Rollover Crash in Porter Twp.

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.PORTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a one-car accident occurred this morning on Porter Road, west of McDivitt Road, in Porter Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 8:38 a.m. on December 28, 55-year-old Dawne M. Pelky, of Dayton, was driving westbound on Porter Road, left the right side of the roadway, crossed over the oncoming lane, and traveled into a roadside ditch.

Police say Pelky’s 2013 Hyundai Elantra traveled approximately 56 feet through the ditch until it overturned and slid 28 feet to its final rest.

According to police, “operator fatigue is believed to be a factor in this crash.”

Pelky was taken into the care of Jefferson County EMS and flown via STAT Medevac to UPMC Altoona Hospital for injuries of unknown severity, police say.

She was using a seat belt.

South Side Towing of Punxsutawney towed the car from the scene.

Ringgold Fire Department assisted at the scene.
