Driver Injured after Crashing into Mailbox, Shearing Utility Pole

BLOOM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-Based State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Greenville Pike in Bloom Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, this crash occurred at 10:44 a.m. on November 27, 2015 as 18-year-old Shae J. Bloom, of Curwensville, was traveling northbound in a 2008 Kia Spectra.

Police say Bloom swerved into the southbound lane then slid back into the northbound lane before traveling off the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle then struck a mailbox before striking a utility pole, shearing the pole in two.

The vehicle then rolled two and half times before striking a tree and coming to rest on its roof facing east.

Bloom was not wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.

He was transported to Penn Highlands for treatment by DuBois EMS.
