Driver Injured in 18-Wheeler Crash on I-80, Pine Creek Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Dubois-based State Police say around 11:32 p.m. on January 8, a one vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Johnny W. Franklin, 30 of Augusta, GA, was traveling west on Interstate 80 in a 2001 Freightliner FLD and began sliding on the roadway and then exited the road surface to the north, striking a guiderail with the front end.

The truck then passed through the guiderail and traveled down an embankment with the tractor overturning.

The vehicle came to rest with the tractor upside down and the trailer facing northwest, approximately 150 down the embankment.

The driver was wearing a seat belt and required EMS transport by Brookville Ambulance Service with moderate injuries.

Franklin was charged with a traffic violation.
