Driver Injured in One-Vehicle Crash in Westover

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225WESTOVER BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say early this morning a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 36, on North Main Street, in Westover, Clearfield County.

According to police, around 12:45 a.m. on June 14, 52-year-old Frank R. Abel, of Hastings, was traveling at a speed greater than reasonable while negotiating a left curve in the roadway and lost control of his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and slid off the road to the left.

The vehicle drove up the embankment and crashed into several trees, police say.

Abel suffered injuries of unknown severity, according to police.

Hastings EMS transported him to UPMC Altoona.

He was not using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation, police say.
