Driver Injured in Rollover Crash in Washington Township

Police car lightsWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 3:24 p.m. on March 3, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, at the 90.6 mile marker, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 41-year-old Roy D. Alequin, of Lorain, OH, was traveling eastbound in the left lane when he lost control of his 1997 Mercury Mountaineer.

Police say his tires broke traction, thus causing the vehicle to begin rotating counterclockwise. The vehicle then left its lane, traveling across the left fog line and left shoulder impacting the embankment with its right front. Then, it continued east and overturned.

The vehicle came to a final rest on its wheels on the left embankment facing a southern direction, according to police.

Amserv LTD Dusan Ambulance transported Alequin to Penn Highlands DuBois for injuries of unknown severity.

He was using a seat belt.

Alequin was changed with a traffic violation.

Amserv LTD Dusan Ambulance and Friendship Hose Company assisted at the scene.
