State Police say around 3:48 p.m. on January 21, Brandon M. Dickey, 20, of Mahaffey, was traveling north on SR 36 in a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 at a speed too fast for the left hand curve he was entering.

Dickey applied the brakes and slid approximately 91 feet before hitting the embankment on the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle continued to travel in a southerly direction where it again began impacting the embankment on the east side of the road.

The second impact caused the truck to roll over onto its driver side and came to rest facing east in the northbound lane of SR 36.

Dickey was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

Jefferson County EMS assisted State Police at the scene.

The driver was cited with a traffic violation, and charges filed through Magisterial District Court 54-3-01.
