Driver Injured, Rushed to Hospital After Vehicle Slams Into Tree in Rose Township

ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 34-year-old man was rushed to a nearby hospital after his vehicle crashed into a tree in Rose Township early Tuesday morning.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, this crash took place at 3:59 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, on Interstate 80 East, near the 78×2 mile marker, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 34-year-old Albin Azizi, of Harrisburg, lost control of his 2020 Honda, and the vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway. It continued for approximately 60 yards and then struck a tree.

Azizi suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands Brookville by Jefferson County EMS. He was using a seat belt.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by McPherson Auto Body and Towing.

According to police, Azizi was charged with a traffic violation.
