Driver Loses Control of Vehicle, Impacts Tree

BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a 22-year-old Jefferson County man sustained injuries after allegedly losing control of his vehicle and impacting a tree.

Police report the accident occurred around 3:08 a.m. on July 27 when Drue J. Crooks, of Stump Creek, lost control of his 2002 Ford Windstar while driving on Albion Road in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Crooks was traveling east on Albion Road and traveled across the west bound lane and berm after rounding a right hand curve in the roadway.

Police say Crooks’ vehicle then impacted a tree and rolled over.

Crooks sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS.

Police were assisted at the scene by Elk Run, Central, and Lindsay Volunteer Fire Departments.

Crooks was cited with a Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed violation.
