Driver, Passenger Escape Injuries in Rollover Crash in Washington Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 6:00 p.m. on November 29, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Moore Road, at its intersection with Horm Run Road, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 36-year-old David P. Thompson, of Reynoldsville, was traveling southbound on Moore Road, negotiating a downhill left curve on ice/snow covered road conditions.

Police say Thompson’s rear tires broke traction causing the vehicle to begin rotating counterclockwise. The vehicle then left its lane traveling across the southbound shoulder of the roadway.

The vehicle overturned coming to a final rest on its roof in a large drainage ditch facing a westerly direction.

Thompson and a passenger, 30-year-old Alexandra N. Thompson, of Reynoldsville, were using seat belts and were not injured.

Thompson was charged with a traffic violation.
