Driver Suffers Injuries in Rollover Crash on Route 948

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.HOWE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to Marienville-based State Police, around 9:15 a.m. on September 19, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 948, in Howe Township, Forest County.

Police say 75-year-old Donald E. Beam, of DuBois, was traveling north on SR 948 and lost control of his 2005 Jeep Cherokee while negotiating a left curve on the wet roadway.

Beam struck an embankment, overturned, and subsequently slid across SR 948 coming to a rest off the west shoulder on its driver’s side, according to police.

Beam suffered moderate injuries. He was not using a seat belt, police say.

He was freed from the vehicle and transported to the Kane Hospital by Sheffield VFD Ambulance, according to police.

He was charged with a traffic violation, police say.

Sheffield VFD, Sheffield VFD Ambulance, and Clarion Hospital EMS assisted at the scene.

Zook Motors towed the vehicle from the scene.
