Drugs, Gun Found During Punxsy Traffic Stop; DUI Charges Pending

PUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Two area residents are facing charges after drugs, paraphernalia, and a firearm were found during a traffic stop in Punxsutawney.

According to police, around 9:39 p.m. on March 22, a 2005 Honda Civic, operated by 18-year-old Jaden Caine Schrock, of Punxsutawney, was stopped for a summary traffic violation at Clark Avenue and Hampton Avenue in Punxsutawney Borough.

Police say upon further investigation, Schrock was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance, and a second individual, 31-year-old Stevonta Lofton, of Rossiter, was found to be in possession of a pistol without a concealed carry permit, and also in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lofton was placed in the Jefferson County Jail.

Charges against Schrock are pending blood test results.
