DuBois, Pa. (EYT) — It will be quite the celebration at this weekend’s DuBois Community Days.
The 25th Annual DuBois Community Days will be held Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18, at the DuBois City Park, and this year’s grand marshal of the Firemen’s Parade is Mike Lange, longtime voice of the Pittsburgh Penguins National Hockey League team, just coming off its fourth Stanley Cup title.
The event includes arts, crafts, live entertainment, food booths, the largest firemen’s parade in Western Pa., fireworks, and more.
The parade will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday with fireworks at dusk.
There will be free swimming at the Community Pool from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
There will be a 5k race on Saturday morning and a drum and bugle competition at 11:30 a.m.
Everything is free – except for the food and a few activities.
Only non-profit groups can make money from the event. Individual DuBois Volunteer Fire Department hose companies, including other non-profits, can sell food and other items to raise funds. Every group that participates (both non-profit or for-profit companies involved in the event) does something to contribute back to the event in some sort of non-monetary way.
