DUBOIS, Pa. (EYT) – After putting together a team in The Basketball Tournament this past summer, a DuBois man is now going a step further and starting a team in the Premier Basketball League.

According to Albert Varacallo, the DuBois Dream will play in the Premier Basketball League with the season starting in January.

“The PBL is considered the Triple-A of minor league basketball in the state,” Varacallo said. “With the season fast approaching in January, we are looking to fill the roster with anyone from the District 9 area and beyond who may be interested in giving this a shot.”

The Dream will be a semi-pro/minor league team and will hold tryouts Dec. 11 at Treasure Lake Family Life Center (Whitaker Court) from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“I would love to see some former D9 stars show up and give it a shot,” Varacallo said.

Games will be on Saturdays and Sunday, according to Varacallo.

“We really hoping to bring some competitive basketball to the area on Saturdays and Sundays,” Varacallo said.

According to the PBL website (www.thepbl.com) the league has teams in Buffalo, N.Y., Chautauqua, N.Y., Indianapolis, Owensboro, Ky., St. Joseph, Mich., Jamestown, N.Y., Providence, R.I., Rochester, N.Y., and Washington, D.C.
