DuBois Man Faces Charges After Allegedly Stealing Money From Punxsy Residence

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police received a complaint concerning a theft that occurred on Park Avenue, in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.

According to police, the victim reported that 49-year-old Eric B. Coudriet, of DuBois, had been staying at her residence. On April 6, 2015 – upon leaving the residence – he allegedly stole $540.00 from her, which was in $20.00 denominations.

According to police, “Coudriet reportedly contacted the victim at a later time via telephone, admitted to stealing the money, and attempted to make arrangement on a later date to begin paying it back.”

Police were unable to locate Coudriet, and a criminal complaint was subsequently filed against him in Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers on the following charges:

  • Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1
  • Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on March 3 in front of Judge Chambers.
