DuBois Woman Arrested For DUI after Crash in Washington Township

Police car lightsWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say this crash occurred at 6:45 p.m. on August 6 as 27-year-old Erika R. Yates, of Dubois, was traveling westbound on Kyle Run Road just east of Buskirk Road.

Yates’ 2006 Chevrolet Uplander traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a small culvert with the undercarriage of the vehicle and then continued west and struck a tree with the left front of the vehicle, according to police.

Yates veered back onto the roadway and came to final rest in the middle of the roadway facing west, according to police.

Police say Yates was not wearing a seat belt, but did not appear to be injured.

Police determined that Yates was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested for DUI.

She was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by DuBois EMS.
