State Representative Dush Hosting Taxpayer Caucus August 22 in Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – PA State Representative Cris Dush (R-Jefferson/Indiana) announced he is hosting a Taxpayers’ Caucus hearing to seek regional input on the Senate’s $571 million tax increase proposal and its effect on small businesses and everyday Pennsylvanians.

The hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m., at the Heritage House located at 4 Sylvania Street in Brookville.

“Since the Senate narrowly passed this revenue package on July 27, myself and other members of the Taxpayers’ Caucus have been pouring through over 200 hidden fund accounts looking for money to pay for this year’s budget and close last year’s deficit without raising taxes,” said Dush. “This hearing will be specifically focused on the impact a severance tax on natural gas drillers and additional gross receipts taxes on utilities would have on job creators and hardworking families in Jefferson and Indiana counties. I am looking forward to hearing from as many concerned taxpayers from the 66th Legislative District as possible.”

The Taxpayers’ Caucus was created by members of the House and Senate with the single purpose of changing the culture of Harrisburg.

Those interested in speaking during the hearing are asked to call Dush’s district office at 814-938-4225 by Monday, August 21.

The 66th Legislative District includes all of Jefferson County and the Indiana County communities of Banks, Canoe, East Mahoning, Grant, Green, Montgomery, North Mahoning, Rayne, South Mahoning, and West Mahoning Townships and Cherry Tree, Ernest, Glen Campbell, Marion Center, Plumville, and Smicksburg Boroughs.
