E. Robert “Bob” Buzzell

E. Robert (Bob) Buzzell, 98, of DuBois, died on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

Born in 1917, in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Edgar R. and Bertha Mae Taylor Buzzell. On December 26, 1941 he married Edna Leinbach, who preceded him in death on September 15, 2009.

He is survived by two children, Ann L. Wiles and her husband, Robert, of Canton, Michigan and Robert J. Buzzell and his wife, Ann, of DuBois; two grandchildren, Greg Buzzell and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Mrozek of Columbus, Ohio and Laura Buzzell of Waldorf, Maryland; one great-grandson, Atticus Buzzell of Columbus. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Myers.

Bob was a 1934 graduate of Philipsburg High School. He attended the Faust School of Piano Tuning, Boston, Massachusetts, the Signal Corps School in Cumberland, Maryland, Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania.

He retired after twenty years of teaching at the Bucks County Vocational Technical School. He was a piano tuner and continued tuning into his 80s.

Bob was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church.

He was an accomplished jazz pianist and enjoyed entertaining at local nursing and personal care homes throughout Centre County.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, followed by a memorial service at 12 noon in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
