Earl H. Thorpe Jr.

earl-thorpe-jrEarl H. Thorpe Jr., 87, DuBois, PA and formerly of Baltimore, MD, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Born November 9, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Earl H. and Bertha (Stickler) Thorpe Sr.

He was married to Esther M. (Pearson) Thorpe on December 26, 1950 in Baltimore. She survives.

Earl was a graduate of St. Joseph Monastery in Baltimore, MD and later worked in sales.

During the Korean War, he served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed golfing and traveling across the U.S. and world. He was Catholic by faith.

He is survived by four children, James “Jim” C. Thorpe of Port Orange, FL, Michael E. (Rhonda) Thorpe of Clearfield, PA, Joanne M. (George) Tutor of Union City, PA, and Jeannette E. (Donald) Dalton of Quakertown, PA, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was the last member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

There will be no public visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. in DuBois, PA.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity organization of the donor’s choice.
