Edith M. “Edie” Henderson, 83, of New Bethlehem, died early Monday morning, January 11, 2016 at Edgewood Heights in New Bethlehem.
She was born May 24, 1932 in Reynoldsville, the daughter of the late Henry Walter and Minerva Mae (Clontz) Stevenson II. She was married to William A. Henderson on August 23, 1958 and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Edie worked at the Brookville Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in New Bethlehem.
She is survived by a daughter, Becki Bohlen of Galloway, Ohio, a son, Jeffrey Henderson and his wife LaVonne of Kellersburg, a granddaughter, Kendall Bohlen, and a brother, Henry W. Stevenson III of Brockway.
In addition to her husband William, and both her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eric W. Henderson, and five sisters, Margaret Long, Harriett Stevenson, Shirley Williams, Lottie Stevenson and Mary Stevenson.
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Ryver officiating.
Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery, Limestone Township.
