Edith M. Justice

Edith M. Justice, 97, of Porter, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2023 at Penn Highlands, Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

She was born November 09, 1925 to John and Fannie (Smith) Mohney in Punxsutawney.

Edith was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church, where she was an active member in her younger years.

Edith grew up as a farm girl, where she milked cows at the age of 5.

She worked at Lorie Footwear and Rolo Jensen.

She enjoyed gardening, gallivanting, and visiting with her friends and family.

She enjoyed life and lit up a room with her presence and smile.

She is survived by two daughters; LaDawn Wampler and husband John, Sykesville, Jeri Justice and Bob Sparks, Erie, two grandchildren; Gin Hartleigh and wife Angela and Joey Hartley and wife Valerie, a great grandson Sabastian Hartley, four step-great grandchildren; Cory, Kaitlin, Brook, and Brea, two great great grandchildren; Jonathan Wampler and Ephraim as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delas J. Justice in 2000, two infant sons, a grandchild Daniel Hartley, her sister Louise Means and six brothers; Emery, Elmer, Ferman, Guy, Floyd, and Clyde Mohney.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Friends will also be received on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Glenn McQuown and Rev. Kenneth Eddy officiating.

Interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Cemetery Association, c/o Judy Stahlman 8122 Route 536, Punxsutawney, PA 15767 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
