Elizabeth “Betty” A. Sunealitis


Elizabeth “Betty” A. Sunealitis, 81, Soldier, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her home.

Born June 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Dorothy (Faudie) Stover.

She married Stanley “Sonny” Sunealitis on May 25, 1984. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2009.

Betty graduated from Brady Township High School. She enjoyed working in various retail positions throughout her life. Betty was the owner/operator of Salem Market and the mobile home court; she worked at Maple Ave. Hospital as an admissions clerk and for Dr. Cherry as a receptionist. Most of the time, she was found baking in her kitchen. She enjoyed camping, going to Salamanca with her friend, Milly Roy, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kelly (Rick) Witherite of Sykesville, PA and David Kougher of DuBois; seven grandchildren, Jason (Carter) Kougher of Milan, Ohio, Jess Kougher of Hubbard, Ohio, Jeremy (Kristen) Kougher of DuBois, Jenna Kougher of DuBois, Richard Witherite Jr. of Pittsburgh, Megan Witherite of Rockton, and Bobbi Jean Witherite of Pittsburgh; three stepchildren, Ron (Ann) Sunealitis of DuBois, Steve Sunealitis, and Carolyn (Tom) Frantz of Troutville, and five great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Nathan, Grace, Layla, and Colin.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Chris Kougher and an infant child, Brian.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. A funeral service will follow Sunday’s visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Richard Howe officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
