Elizabeth “Betty” (Barbus) Vallosio

Elizabeth “Betty” (Barbus) Vallosio, 88, of Brookville, PA, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, February 23, 2018, as a resident of Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville, PA.

She was born on August 18, 1929, to the late Paul A. and Anna (Bak) Barbus, in Vandergrift, PA. She graduated from Vandergrift Area High School. On August 28, 1949, she married Domenic A. Vallosio in Westmoreland County, PA; after almost 31 years of marriage, Domenic preceded her in passing on November 16, 1980.

Betty graduated from the Jeff Tech practical nursing program and worked for 17 years a licensed practical nurse for the Brookville Hospital. Post retirement she provided private in-home nursing care. It was in her nature to be nurturing and caring to others.

Betty had a strong faith and belief in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She used this faith to help carry her through her entire life. Her strong relationship with the Lord took her many places performing mission work including the countries of Mexico, Israel, and China.

Betty is survived by three daughters; Susan (Randy) Burns of Brookville, PA; Donna (Don) Beitel of Springdale, PA; Debi (Stan) Ruffner of Brookville, PA; one son; David (Cathy) Vallosio of Brookville, PA; four granddaughters; Jennifer (Chad) Weaver, Tara Burns, Lauren (Travis) Aiken, Sarah (Cory) Masterson; one grandson; Ryan Burns; one sister; Lillian (Jack) Miller of Vandergrift, PA; and six great-grandchildren; Bryce, Carson, and Owen Weaver, Dylan and Sadie Aiken, and Hudson Masterson.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty is preceded in death by six brothers; Edward, Albert, Paul, Tommy, George, Stephen; two sisters; Eleanor and Mary; and one grandson; Jason Beital.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 26, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will immediately follow the viewing, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Johns Cemetery (Windy Hill) in Rose Township, Jefferson County, PA.
